Preparing for The Nuts Challenge in Aid of Bloodwise
In just a few weeks time Harriet, founder of Collective Industries, will be taking on The Nuts Challenge for the second time in aid of raising money for Bloodwise.
Bloodwise is the only UK charity to solely support the fight against blood cancer. It is a charity close to our hearts after Harriet lost her granddad to Leukaemia early in 2015. Throughout the year, as well as monthly donations, Collective Industries takes part in events just like this in the hope to raise a little extra. Blood cancer is in the top 10 most common cancers in the UK, yet it does not receive government funding for its research to battle the disease, so every penny we raise for this great cause is really valued.
So whats The Nuts Challenge about?
The Nuts course lives up to its name, stretching a full 7K over woodland and country side, with steep hills, muddy uneven trails and over 100 nutty obstacles to tackle.
In September last year, you might remember Harriet ran the course for the first time with family and friends raising over £500 in aid of this fantastic cause. They had a fantastic day, really enjoying the race and placed well in the lists of 1000’s of competitors – coming 125th overall.
But it was just about the end of summer back then, the water was warmer, the weather was better… This time she faces the backlash of winter!
