10 Ways to Promote Your Blog

Many businesses, brands and people write and share content through their blog or news page, but not all of these blog posts are being shared to their maximum potential.

This post will teach you our top 10 ways to promote your blog using digital marketing methods that are free or cost very little to get great results.

Our Top 10 Ways to Promote Your Blog:

1. Share on Facebook

Every time you write a blog share it on Facebook from your business page. For best results use an eye-catching image (must be relevant of course) with a short line or caption to go with it. Then add your Call to Action (CTA) and follow with the link to your post. You can use Facebook or other third party applications (like Buffer) to schedule posts in advance but to keep your poster format consistent we would always suggest posting through Facebook.

2. Promote your Facebook posts

If your blog post is worth it why not look at promoting your Facebook posts to reach a larger audience. With the new Facebook algorithm now forcing brands and businesses to put money behind their accounts many of your fans and followers will not even see your post in their news feeds unless you pay to promote it. Stat by testing with a small budget, then as you begin to understand what works best, and your content becomes more refined, then gradually increase it to maximise your impact.

3. Share your content in groups

As well as posting on your own page, why not find and join some relevant Facebook groups. Then when you have content you can share it here as well. But don’t just spam, for best results you will need to nurture the group by commenting or liking other people content, that way your own posts will have a much better chance of engagement.

4. Tweet your blog post link

Twitter is another great platform to help you get your content out there, and provide external links back to your blog (great for SEO). Make sure you include relevant has tags with your tweets in order for it to be found more easily. top 2 rules for Hashtags:

  1. Research the top trending tags and use these as making up your own will not give you the reach you are after.
  2. Think about your location, for local marketing include your city, county or country.

5. Share on LinkedIn

Share a status update on LinkedIn with a link to your blog post – again providing another external link to your site to help create SEO magic! If the content is relevant to one of the groups you are following – share it there as well. Perhaps start a discussion with a link to your blog post, this is a great way to share your knowledge and establish credibility.

6. Use Pinterest

Add your post picture to Pinterest with your teaser text as the caption for the picture. You can now also add links on Pinterest to your pictures – so make sure you add you blog post link here.

7. Instagram your pictures

Instagram is currently on of the fastest growing social media channels, so it is important that you use it for your business too – especially if you are a visual brand, or you sell products, you need to share your content here too.

8. Email Marketing

Email marketing has been around for years and it will be for many more to come. Why not do a weekly or monthly recap on your blog content so that subscribers can stay up to date via email. This is a great way to keep your true fans up to date without spamming them.

9. Comment on other people posts

Find other blogs that are relevant to your business and comment on other peoples posts with a link to your post. But don’t turn into a spammer, remember you need your comment to be good so that other people want to share it!

10. Share it again

Don’t be afraid to share content again – only 10% of your audience may have seen the first post, so why not catch a few more by sharing it again a day or two (or even a week or more if it is not time sensitive) You can play around with variations when sharing posts again. This will also help you test various formats of posting and analyse what works best for more impact!
