A 3 Step Guide to Building the Perfect Social Media Strategy
If your company’s social media strategy could do with a shake up or if you don’t have one in place yet, then this is the blog for you! Below our social guru’s have put together a quick and simple 3 step guide that will help you build the basic foundations for any type of social media campaign that you may wish to run.
Your Social Media Strategy 3 Step Guide
1. Plan
As with all successful campaigns an element of planning is required. Not only does planning enable you to create higher quality, unique content but it also helps you foresee any issues that you might encounter and address them before they happen.
First, you should begin by thinking about what the goal of your social campaign might be. Are you trying to increase followers or is the purpose of your campaign to generate sales?
Knowing your end goal will help give you direction when it comes to the content and style you will use throughout.
Once you have you end goal nailed, you will need to think about:
- Which channels you will use and what type of audience will you have on each of those?
- What type of content or resource do you have easy access to that is unique and interesting for your readers?
- Who will be managing your campaign?
- Is your content is shareable and does it add value for your readers?
All these things need to be considered to ensure your campaign is successful, so work through this list and make sure tick each of them off as you build your strategy and content.
Collective Industries provide social media strategy support from start to finish, but if you just need assistance developing your strategy we can help there too!
2. Deliver
Now you know what your campaign will look like content wise you will need to think about the delivery of your social media strategy.
There are many factors which will determine your delivery:
- What are the optimum posting times for each channel?
- Do you need/have time to post on every channel every day, or will you restrict your posts to only a few specific days each week?
If you don’t have time to deliver and monitor your campaign yourself, you might wish to consider hiring an in house social media manager or an external support service. For more information on our social media solutions click here.
3. Measure
Once your campaign is up and running you will want to measure the results to make sure all your hard work is paying off.
The great thing with social media, unlike traditional forms of marketing activities, is you can measure your results in real time. This means that if something isn’t working as expected you have the opportunity to make changes and tweaks to ensure your campaign performance is kept as high as possible.
Many social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter offer analytics tools within their platform that will help you measure this, however if you are looking for a one stop analytics shop, or more of a comparison tool then you might want to consider exploring the various analytics tools that are out there such as Quintly or Sprinklr.
Performance reporting is something that we do here at Collective Industries. We specialise and provide this type of service for many clients, and you can choose if you just need a one-off report or if you require this on a regular basis.
